WHY WILDERNESS 1964 – Today
Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, with Ralph Swain, retired USFS Wilderness Ranger of the Mt. Zirkel, Indian Peaks, Rawah and Weminuche Wilderness areas in Colorado as part of his 38 years managing wildernesses in Colorado, California and Montana. Ralph will guide us through the significance of 60 years of wilderness beginning with why it was important to designate wilderness areas with the signing of the Wilderness Act of 1964. Wilderness areas increase in value daily according to Ralph and we will learn why wilderness is so important today and for future generations.
If you enjoy our local Wilderness areas, you wonʻt want to miss this important discussion.
